Tree of Heaven Honey 8 oz

Handcrafted honey from our friends down the road in Parsons, WV. Ailanthus altissima, commonly known as tree of heaven, ailanthus, varnish tree, or in Chinese as chouchun, is a deciduous tree in the family Simaroubaceae. It is native to northeast and central China, and Taiwan. Unlike other members of the genus Ailanthus, it is found in temperate climates rather than the tropics. It has taken over much the Appalachians. These bees made honey from Tree of Heaven pollen resulting in a honey with sensations of moscato grapes and peach syrup, lychee stands out most distinctly, followed by an umami finish reminiscent of fresh mushrooms.
